Will Cherry Named Big Sky Player of the Week

For the first time this season, Will Cherry of Montana has been named the Big Sky Conference Player of the Week. It is the third time in his career that he has won the award.

Cherry, a 6-foot-1 guard from West Oakland, Calif., averaged 18.5 points, 5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and two steals per game, shot 50 percent from the floor, 60 percent from 3-point range, and 84.6 percent from the free-throw line as the Grizzlies ran their winning streak to four games.
After starting a little slow offensively, Cherry has picked it up of late, which is a big reason Montana has been playing so well lately.

The other candidates were: Cliff Colimon (Eastern Washington), Chase Grabau (Idaho State), Christian Moon (Montana State), James Douglas (Northern Arizona), Mike Proctor (Northern Colorado), Charles Odum (Portland State), John Dickson (Sacramento State), Damian Lillard (Weber State).
