Nice Weekend For The Big Sky

There were only four games on the schedule, but the Big Sky represented itself well, going 3-1 on the weekend.

The biggest story was the return of Derek Selvig from injury, as he helped Montana beat San Diego 73-60. Selvig adds a whole different dimension to their offense with his skill set. The Griz have struggled at times this year to put the ball in the basket, and it is no coincidence that they had their best performance on that side of the ball this year on Sunday.

In Saturday's action, both Weber State and Montana State took care of business on the road. Weber State did not look great, but they took down UC Irvine 80-72 behind good games from Damian Lillard and Scott Bamforth. Montana State beat Utah 70-64, thanks to some nice FT shooting late, as well as a solid day from Rod Singleton.

Northern Colorado suffered the lone loss, losing 78-69 to Northern Iowa, but even they represented themselves well, behind a career day from G Paul Garnica. The Bears drop to 0-3.

Here is a look at the week ahead, with predictions for eight of the biggest games of the week in the Big  Sky.
